At Tromsø Fiskeindustri AS, we focus on privacy and securing personal information. All internal and external persons who interact with us must be confident that personal data is processed in a secure and correct manner. We want those registered to know what rights they have under the Personal Data Act and that we ensure their integrity.

This privacy policy contains both general information about how we collect and use personal data, and information about how we process personal data. It also explains how we secure your rights according to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable as of May 25th, 2018.

Who we are

Tromsø Fiskeindustri AS, from here referred to as Trofi®,is a dedicated manufacturer of high-performance starter feed for small fish determined to become big fish. We are located at the edge of Arctic in Tromsø, Norway. Our products are sold in Norway and exported to countries in Europe, Mexico and North America.

The following important terms are used in the declaration

Personal information

Personal information is e.g. name, address, e-mail address, phone number, etc. and assessments that can be linked to a specific person.

The registered

The data subjects are persons to whom the personal data relates (employees, users, customers, contacts, etc.).

Processing is any operation or series of operations that is performed on personal data, for example collection, registration, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or change, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transfer, dissemination, or all other forms of making available, compiling or collating, restriction, deletion or destruction.

The controller is the person who determines the purpose of the processing of personal data and the means by which the data is to be processed. It is the data controller who is responsible for the processing of personal data taking place in accordance with the law.

Data processor

Data processor is the person who processes personal data on behalf of the data controller. The data processor must only process personal data in accordance with the agreement with the controller.

General information about the processing of personal data

The Act regulates all forms of processing of personal data. The law sets strict requirements for confidentiality and security when processing personal data. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority supervises the law.

What types of personal data are processed

Personal information is any information or assessment that can be linked to you as an individual. We only store information that is necessary to be able to fulfill our obligations related to contracts and agreements with customers, suppliers, partners, and employees. We limit the processing to what is strictly necessary based on the deliveries and service we are to provide or need.

Personal data and Google Analytics

We automatically anonymize all IP addresses for Google Analytics hits and all form of tracking data. We have also disabled demographics and interest reports for re-marketing and advertising tracking on Google Analytics hits. We have also disabled UserID tracking on Google Analytics hits.

Who we share your information with

We may share personal information with third-party service providers and sub-contractors such as forwarders, brokers and others in connection to shipment of goods. We do not share personal information with external third parties, except when the person to whom the information relates has given their consent:

• on the basis of law or regulations

• or following an order from a public authority.

If required by law

We will disclose your personal information if required by law or if we, as a company, reasonably believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our company’s rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process. However, we will do what we can to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

Your rights regarding information we hold about you

We can be contacted if you have questions about or want access to the information we store about you. If you discover errors or there are changes to the information (for example new address, telephone number, e-mail), we ask that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can update the information. We are obliged to provide you with access to and information about the personal data we have registered about you within 30 days of receiving a request.

You also have the right to request correction, deletion, restriction of processing of personal data, data portability and the right to object to certain forms of processing. The right to request that your personal data is deleted occurs when it is no longer necessary for Trofi® to retain such data.

In addition, you have the right to withdraw any consent to personal data processing at any time. For example, your consent to receive newsletters, invitations, and urgent messages. If you want to withdraw your consent, please make use of the link to manage your subscriptions included in our communication. Please note that you may still receive system messages and administrative communications from Trofi®, such as order confirmations, notifications, etc connected to our cooperation and operations.  

You can report to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority if you do not get access to your own information to which you have a right of access, or if you have another complaint about the processing of the personal information.

Changes to this Privacy Statement

Trofi® reserves the right to amend this Privacy Statement at any time. The applicable version will always be found on our website. If we make changes that significantly alter our privacy practices, we will notify you by email, or post a notice on our website prior to the change taking effect.

How we protect your personal data

We work planned and systematically to safeguard information security and use both technical and organizational security measures to protect the stored personal data against unauthorized access and use. To the extent that we share personal data with third parties, we place corresponding requirements on information security for them.
